ESMA CONFERENCE ON ‘THE STATE OF EUROPEAN FINANCIAL MARKETS’

The European Securities and Markets Authority announced its annual Conference on ‘The State of European Financial Markets’, to be held on the 17th of October in The Westin Grand Paris – Vendôme.

The Conference is set to address the most important topics in the field of EU financial markets sector, such as perspectives for the next phase in the development of the Capital Markets Union (CMU), updates on the Brexit negotiations or ‘financial consumer protection against the background of financial innovation’.

Among the 350 speakers invited to discuss on the ‘issues currently affecting the financial sector such as the macroeconomic environment, regulation, investor protection, innovation’, ESMA announces the participation of the Vice-President of the European Commission, in charge of Financial Stability, Financial Services and Capital Markets Union, Valdis Dombrovkis; the Chief Brexit negotiator on behalf of the European Commission, Michel Barnier; and the CEO of the London Stock Exchange, Xavier Rolet.

The presentations are organised in four panels, concerning Trading and Market Infrastructures (Panel 1), Brexit (Panel 2), Investors and Innovation (Panel 3) and The Regulatory Agenda Post-2017 (Panel 4).
